Heather

Heather also has the name Callune , which comes from the Greek and means to clean, to sweep. Heather wood was once used to make brooms, which quickly led the plant to be associated with witchcraft. It was therefore customary to burn heather to ward off evil spirits or to give it as an offering on full moon nights to attract benevolent spirits and ensure protection .
